Nokia, with this step, brings one amongst the most expensive portfolios of crucial 2G, 4G, and 3G patents into the one-stop solution of Avanci for the IoT manufacturers. Nokia is the twentieth patent owner to take part in the Avanci marketplace.
Kasim Alfalahi, founder and CEO of Avanci said that their vision has always been to create a one-stop market-place for wireless patent owners and IoT manufacturers, which enable streamlined innovations and greater efficient technology sharing. He further added that post Nokia’s addition to their platform, they have realized that Avanci now focuses on offering license that covers a huge majority of the cellular standard essential patents across the globe and the feel pride as Nokia trusts in their model.
According to the senior vice president and head of Nokia’s Patent Business, Jenni Lukander, With Nokia’s steps to join Avanci platfrom, they would have more choices in taking a license for covering their portfolio of standard essential cellular patents of 4G, 3G, and 2G.
Following its growth from initial five patent owners to the current 20 patent owners, the company looks forwards to join hands with more companies that seek the addition of connectivity to their IoT products.
